Blog #8 Website and Final Reflection

This will be a longer post but will count as the final course reflection. Answer each of the following questions, and then when you finish, be sure to respond to some element of each other class member's reflection (not all of it, just pull out one comment each person made). Post by Monday, May 8th at midnight and respond to each classmate by Friday, May 12th (simply respond to one thing your classmates posted but please do not copy and paste the same comment...make it individual to THAT person's answers/comments.  

1. How do you feel about your final website creation? What would you like to add/change before the class is finished (if you can)? Please list your final website link AND QR code here. 

2. What is your biggest frustration with the website project? If you were teaching it, what would you do differently (other than switching to Wix)?

3. What did you like best about creating a professional website? List some successes and lessons learned for future website building with your students. 

4. As for the whole class, list your major accomplishments and learning points (this could be skills, apps, research, presentations, or something related to work we did in class). The more you list, the more you're showing you learned!

5. What is something about the class you wish you had done better with (committee work? Research? App-work?)? Why? Be explicit. 

6. If you were making changes to this class, what would you do differently? What projects would you add/eliminate/change? How would you adapt the class if you could? 

7. What grade do you feel you deserve in this class? Make you claim and then support it! (The more evidence you provide, the more likely I am to buy it!)

Blog #7 Tech Tues. Stations

Share your reaction to how the stations worked, what did you learn from your own presentation/activity, and if you were doing this again, what would you do differently? What would you think of this as a future format for Tech Tuesdays? Blog by Friday, Sept. 28th and respond by class time next Tuesday May 2nd.

Website Early Steps

As you all begin your websites, share a little about the early journey. How hard is it to come up with what to include? How are you liking your About Me/Profile page? Did you find a good picture to use? What tabs did you decide on (remember, you can modify the rubric to fit YOUR needs)? At this early stage, what questions/concerns do you have? Have you updated your resume, cultivated your experiences that are relevant? Start thinking about the next stages!

Tech Tuesdays and Faculty Inspiration

For this Blog, I want you all to react to Tech Tuesdays and the technology we are sharing with the faculty/staff and students. Offer input on how you think the first two sessions went, what you got out of them, what you think the folks who attended got, and how effective the sessions were (try to address them individually). Also add a thought about your future session if you haven't presented yet and how you can best prepare and relate to faculty and students. Add any thoughts about the process and the product as you've seen it so far! Please blog by Monday March 27th at midnight and then respond by Friday March 31st at midnight.

Blog #4 Jigsawing

Jigsawing is a relatively new concept in the world of teaching (15 years or so it's been used but really gained research-based acceptance in the past decade). How could you see using this concept in your future classroom? What do you feel are necessary components to jigsawing? i.e. Visual vs. no visual, tight concise concepts versus just conversational feedback...share what you feel would make it work better for you or what has/does work so far.

Blog #3 Peer Teaching and QR Codes

Tuesday you all saw the last of the peer presentations on Tech Tools (Kelsey) and then shared potential uses of QR Codes. Now that you've seen what QR Codes can do and you've signed up to lead Tech Tuesday sessions, what are your thoughts on the tools you think would be best to demonstrate for students and faculty (are QR codes one of them? Or are you thinking there are more important tools to teach)? Each of you come up with 3-5 potential tech tools YOU think are worthy of a Tech Tuesday. If someone steals yours before you post it, pick something new!

Post by Tuesday, Feb. 14 and respond to classmates by Friday, Feb. 17.

Blog #2 Tech Tool Demos and Technology Use

So you should've kept track of your daily use one day...share how much you used your device, what you did, and how it made you feel!

THEN, do the following for the "teaching" of the apps/websites on the technology survey:

1. Share what you loved about the tech tool demos...of them overall, of the presentations specifically, and/or what you especially liked about this demo process.

2. Share one thing you learned from each person AND how you envision yourself using this tool (or one of their tools) in your future classroom/profession. The key to this course is to drive you toward implementation and application.

3. Share something you would like to see more of or that you think we should delve deeper into (for example, we are going to do more with QR codes)...what's something else you think we should explore more and in more detail?
